Calls for more CCTV security cameras in Teesside

A woman has been calling for CCTV security cameras to be installed outside her home to catch fly tippers.





Joyce Chase lives in her home in Middlesbrough with her 81 year old mother Beryl Brown and both of them are now at breaking point with fly tippers who continue to dump bricks and glass outside their home.





They are now appealing for Teesside CCTV system cameras to be installed around their home on Rockcliffe Road, so the culprits can be caught in the act.





Speaking to The Evening Gazette, Joyce admitted that the rubbish is making both of their lives a misery and it can only be stopped by having Teesside CCTV security cameras installed.





She said: " We are sick of it now as they are leaving it outside our garage where I park my car every night.


"When it happens I have to get out and sweep it all away."





The rubbish has now been dumped on four separate occasions which has caused a lot of misery for Joyce and her elderly mother who are concerned that the darker winter nights will make the situation even more unbearable if they have to keep sweeping rubbish away.


As well as the inconvenience this has caused both mother and daughter, Joyce also suffers from back pain so cannot keep getting rid of the huge piles of bricks and glass on her own.


Her mother Mrs Brown now agrees that getting CCTV installed would help deter people from dumping waste outside their home.


She told the paper: "We are really sick of this now and I just don’t understand why they don’t get a skip.





"I think putting cameras up would be a good idea and would help catch the people who are responsible."





The Council is looking into the matter and is urging the public to report any fly tipping.
